SEO Book - Get It While It’s Still On The Market

7 Days to Search Engine Success

Aaron Wall is changing his business model to a paid private forum. It appears he will also remove his SEO Book from distribution, or alternatively will raise the price considerably.

If you’re interested in his book, but have been holding off, I suggest you purchase it now for $79. It’s a steal at that price - the knowledge you gain will be priceless. It’s 328 pages of up-to-the-minute SEO advice and training. I’ve never been steered wrong by Aaron, which makes him one of my gurus.

Do Blog Comments Pass Link Juice? Yes!

orange_juice Several times people have asked this question in blog comments - Do blog comments pass as much link juice as other forms of link building when made on a ‘do follow’ blog posting?

After a discussion with an esteemed colleague, as well as some research on blog comments left by us, the short answer to this is yes, they do. Long answer - not only do they carry as much, but they may carry more weight.

Blog comments are typically placed on highly relevant sites. If there are relevant keywords in the comment, this will add to the value, and if a keyword within the comment is linked (not always allowed) the link is highly valued.

New SEO Keyword Tools

Black Hat Keyword Tool

I don’t know what would be considered black hat about this keyword tool, but it’s a very fast way to get a nice list of keywords:

Microsoft Adcenter Keyword Tool

According SEO Book Aaron Wall’s blog post of January 11:

“…this tool is bad ass. Ad Intelligence is a new keyword tool from Microsoft which is well worth using, and will probably force Google and Yahoo to make better keyword tools. All of this data is free during the beta test as long as you have a Microsoft AdCenter account (you can set one up for $5, with a $50 coupon if you search Google for AdCenter) and a copy of Microsoft Excel 2007 (the Ad Intelligence link above allows you to download a free trial of Excel).”

SEO Dinosaurs

dino_eye StreetLessons.com has an article on 3 SEO Techniques for SEO Dinosaurs on link building techniques that are no good in 2008.

The author makes good points; however, I think these link techniques are still valuable if used properly. Let’s take a look:

Reciprocal Links

Link farms have been a bad idea for a long time, but a few relevant reciprocal links are still a good thing. The key is to not have too many, and make sure they are relevant to your topic or business.

Black Hat Confession

scared-monkey.jpgI confess I read the black hat SEO forums regularly…I learn a lot from them, even though I don’t employ black hat methods. Those guys are the ones who know how to make serious money on the Internet, although it’s high risk, and most of us can’t afford to take those risks. It’s kind of comical, how black hats are portrayed - as though they should go to jail or something. The only laws they are breaking are the “Google” laws.
