A new site I discovered, Scribd, is a “document sharing community” where you can:
- Upload and share your documents.
- Find interesting documents by category, by topic group, by searching, or by just browsing our library.
The interface is nice, and it’s easy to upload a document and add a description and tags. Most document file formats are accepted, including images and video, as well as the following:
- Adobe PDF (.pdf)
- Adobe PostScript (.ps)
- Microsoft Word (.doc)
- Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pps)
- Microsoft Excel (.xls)
- OpenOffice Text Document (.odt, .sxw)
- OpenOffice Presentation Document (.odp, .sxi)

In performing reverse engineering for a client on their competition, I discovered the Clush Directory was listed as a highly relevant and weighted backlink. The site has a PR5 and the link itself showed up in the results as a PR3.
From the Clush Directory itself, this is what you get with membership:
- Guaranteed Rapid Inclusion into the Clush Search Engine and the Clush Directory.
- Optimize search listings fast, see the results! New search positioning viewed every 2-Hours.
- 5 web page submissions to the Clush Search Engine.
- 2-hour refreshed listings with re-scoring of content and link popularity.

One of the keys to being successful in the social media space is to get involved, extend yourself, and help others. ‘Social’ means relating to human society and its members. Leaving comments on blogs can be a valuable part of your linkbuilding campaign.
It does not mean leaving “Great post!” comments on every blog you find. Most bloggers will delete those ASAP, as they should.
Leaving proper blog comments takes time and effort. The rules are simple enough:
- Find relevant blogs
- Read the blog posting
- Leave a comment that adds value to the discussion
- Keep your comment in line with the blog’s comment policy
- Make sure the web site you’re linking to (yours) is worthwhile
