Must-Have Directory Link

31 March 2008 26 Comments

In performing reverse engineering for a client on their competition, I discovered the Clush Directory was listed as a highly relevant and weighted backlink. The site has a PR5 and the link itself showed up in the results as a PR3.

From the Clush Directory itself, this is what you get with membership:

    1. Guaranteed Rapid Inclusion into the Clush Search Engine and the Clush Directory.
    2. Optimize search listings fast, see the results! New search positioning viewed every 2-Hours.
    3. 5 web page submissions to the Clush Search Engine.
    4. 2-hour refreshed listings with re-scoring of content and link popularity.
    5. Get a wide-screen picture of your site in the Directory and the Search Engine.
    6. Receive a Clush Business Profile Page! – Promote your products and services. Use as your own business website! Upload pictures and edit content anytime! Get two links to your website!
    7. Special offer: Submit your Site, add 4 more interior web pages to the Clush Search Engine Free!
    8. Subscription period lasts 12 months. Guaranteed fast inclusion! One time fee, No cost-per-click!

This is one of the less expensive paid directories, with a current introductory price of $19.95. I believe that a few well chosen paid link directories are a good foundation in your link building efforts, and I’m very impressed with this directory’s impact.

Note: I have no affiliation with this directory.

Very nice find, and reasonably priced. I just submitted my site. Thank you.

Is this a search engine that will actually produce traffic and hits, or just link juice? I tried using the search feature and the websites it brought up weren’t very relevant at all.

Thanks for the valuable information. I had come across the name before but had not read a positive recommendation. The price is right, and like you we do see value in these types of directories. From a click perspective if it generates 5-7 clicks a year it pays for itself when compared to other CPCs.

Thanks for the onfo on that site. I just checked it out and will try it out.

Checked in with the clush people today, very good group with live support. Nice directory that is well organized. Well worth the effort as I believe it will produce solid traffic value.

I entered my site on Clush directory last nite. Had a question and went to the open chat room and got my question answered. The fella set up Lousiana real estate while we talked. Such service!

        Dallas – You’re welcome!

        Rick – You’re welcome too!

Green & Eric – I’m so impressed with your reports of the customer service for this directory! You just don’t find such service very often for something like a directory. Thanks for letting me and everyone else know. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the link… I usually stay away from directories cause I don’t think they are worth my time, but this one looks alright. Free one-way-links can never hurt!

Kay I have had a link with clush now for about nine months. They are certainly one of the better directories!

      • http://www.seodiva.net SEO Diva

James – This directory offers a lot more than just one link, for such a low price, I don’t see how you could go wrong with it.

Bill in MA – That’s good to hear. Thanks for letting me know.

Logan – I really don’t know if it will produce traffic, but I think it’s a good backlink to have. Sorry for the late response – you got caught in my spam filter!

      • http://www.neworleanscondotrends.com Eric of New Orleans

The link is already showing up in my backlinks on the next day. I added another page that I have and it was quick. Guess I need to ad some more pages. Could you tell us the main difference in a page and a post from an seo standpoint. I have started on one page where I do a Warehouse Condo Review and link articles to the thumbnails of the units. Takes a while however to get these done.

Ya i hv gone thru it……….

        It is a nice directory……..

I saw the dir for submitting my site … but every categories page is having around 100 outgoing links :o

wat do u say abt it ? is it still worth having our site link between those 100 other sites links ?? wont it count like a link farm ?

Let me know so that i can take the decision of submitting my site into it or not ;)

      • http://www.seodiva.net/ SEO Diva

        Eric – That’s great! I don’t thing there’s much difference in a page vs a post.

Rocker – Thanks for your comment.

Puneet – 100 outgoing links for a directory is okay; it’s not counted as a link farm. I am submitting all my web web sites to this directory…over time…I have a bunch!

Thanx for the reply frd … i submitted my site to it ;)

In the french seo world noone would ever pay for a directory link, It’s really a surprise for me to see this kind of post. :-)

Référencement – That is interesting. There are free ones here, but the paid directories seem to count for more “link juice.”

Puneet & Kathy – Let me know how Clush works out for you.

Yes I’ve been discovering english seo for less than a month now and I’m really impressed to how it’s different mainly in netlinking strategies, I still have managed to find around 500 free english directories though but I guess they aren’t as good as the non free ones.

Ps: Great blog I learned very interresting stuff here :-)

I worry about submitting to paid directories that guarantee inclusion. From Matt Cutts blog article:

“Q: Hey, as long as we’re talking about directories, can you talk about the role of directories, some of whom charge for a reviewer to evaluate them?
A: I’ll try to give a few rules of thumb to think about when looking at a directory. When considering submitting to a directory, I’d ask questions like:
        - Does the directory reject urls? If every url passes a review, the directory gets closer to just a list of links or a free-for-all link site.
        - What is the quality of urls in the directory? Suppose a site rejects 25% of submissions, but the urls that are accepted/listed are still quite low-quality or spammy. That doesn’t speak well to the quality of the directory.
        - If there is a fee, what’s the purpose of the fee? For a high-quality directory, the fee is primarily for the time/effort for someone to do a genuine evaluation of a url or site. ”

Wouldn’t the Clush Directory be involved in passing links that in a manner that Google frowns on? Am I worrying about this too much?

I rarely list in directories but I did this one since the interior pages were able to be linked up. It looked professional and the backlink to my site was up in 24 hours. I am going to do one of my other sites when I can. I would not go overboard with any facet. Content is king in the long run with changes being welcome to the site. Thats my take. Eric

Thanks for the information. i went to the site the other nite and registered. Live chat on the site was helpful also. Have not had a chance to see if back link shows up yet.
