I there a direct correlation between excellent SEO and high ranks in Google? Thanks in advance.

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

Sally, there sure is. There are a lot of factors Google looks for in a website. The majority of web developers and designers don’t know onsite SEO and therefore don’t incorporate the simplest things that can make a huge difference. That’s why SEO is a specialty in itself.

I looked at your site – it’s really nice and you’ve already incorporated some good SEO practices in it; however, there are some areas you could improve for better rankings.

My husband is always skeptical about SEO because he said it’s not an exact science. Like you’ve said here, it takes some fairy dust to achieve it. How can you convince someone who loves facts about the benefits of taking an SEO class? Please let me know as I am having a difficult time convincing him.

  • Anna said:

Thanks for sharing this opportunity! I’d like to improve rankings of my website:)

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

Hmmm, Marjorie – nice challenge! I’m very much into statistics, since I have to be able to show my clients that the fairy dust is working:)

There is actually quite a bit of science involved, including the analysis of keywords to determine the “money keywords” that will bring visitors, correction of the website coding to improve search engine indexing, and content design that indicates to the search engines what content on a page is most important and what the website is about (using the right keywords in the right places). Not so much “rules” as guidelines that SEO professionals use, and that work for every site.

Because I’ve optimized, and ranked, hundreds of websites, I have some of the fairy dust that helps me know quickly just what needs to be done to help a website. But if you’ve got one or even a handful of websites, and you follow the step-by-step guidelines, your site will get higher rankings. It’s better to have help when you’re trying to do something you’re not familiar with…ignorance is not always bliss!

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

Yes, it is all written by me. The value is far beyond the small cost. Considering the hours and effort I put into the guides, I believe I’m offering a service at a very reasonable price.

Could you please tell me what exactly I’ll learn from from your program that’s not available anywhere else on the Internet?

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

@Alan, there are a lot of things that SEO specialists, including me, do not share on the Internet. Blog readers, for the most part, get “new” information that we’ve been using for months (or longer) and that is not necessarily outmoded, but is not cutting edge. These guides give you a lot of info that you probably won’t find online, and if you can find it, would have to spend a lot of hours of research and reading to locate.

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

@wedding dresses – no, it’s not free – it’s a 3 month course that costs $47 per month. You can cancel at any time, but you’ll get so much info from the guides you won’t want to!

  • logo design help said:

The good thing about your information is that it is explicit enough for students to grasp. Thanks for your efforts in spreading academic knowledge.

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

@folder printing – often but not always. I’ve seen sites that are PR0 with a lot of traffic, but typically the higher the PR the more traffic. PR is indicative of Google trust, so the more they trust a site the more likely they are to rank it high (and thus get more traffic).

I hope that makes sense to you.

@Jenny, have you given it time? The results from search engine optimization take awhile to take effect. Sometimes 3 months, sometimes over 6, depending upon the age of the site, the competition, and various other factors. It may be worth investing in this course so that you can check your SEO’s work and make sure it’s being done correctly. Knowledge is power :)

I can’t get over all the “professional SEOs” that really don’t know what they’re doing. One of my clients had their site redesigned (and ruined in my opinion). The new designers trashed all the SEO I had worked so hard on, and I’m stunned at what they did…and what they don’t know. This site was gaining well in the SERPs and now it’s going to crash. Too bad.

  • Business Web Design Australia said:

One of the huge factors people don’t seem to understand is how long it can take to get results… good advice Diva

  • Troy said:

This looks like a good site. I will be checking back. I wondering, though, should a company pay thousands a month for SEO services? I’m under the impression that by regularly looking at sites like this 90% of what’s needed can be done by business owners.

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

@Troy – It depends on how much time the business owner has to both keep up with the fluctuations in SEO and do the work. It can become very time consuming. Also, none of us ever “gives up the farm.” We always keep the newest and best for ourselves and our clients.

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

I didn’t know about SEO Power Team. Do they use a software to analyze your site or do they provide one-on-one consultation?

  • Encinitas real estate said:

I hope they do teach everyone not to indulge in any ‘spammy’ tactics, to be frank just like you don’t like your blog to be spammed, no one really likes their forums or sites to get spammed through any way. I’ve seen people who spam forums so much, they get their accounts banned and that forum takes drastic steps to delete any such activity or they move into moderation and nofollow thus the work of other 100 people who built links for their site on that forum, goes wasted too.

So what I want to say is to teach them to not waste the sites etc where they’ll build links for others. Keep it as safe as they can and be responsible.

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

No, this is a do-it-yourself SEO course. The steps are broken down so it’s easy for a website owner to follow them, as long as they are willing to spend the time. I wrote the course, and worked hard at giving a lot of value in each of the guides. I also provide consultation, so if you are interested you can email me.

  • Seo Diva (author) said:

Nope, no spam. I know forum registrations are controversial. My feeling about that is if you want to join a forum and leave one or two links it’s okay, it builds the membership. Unfortunately some people spam them with hundreds of links and ruin things. It’s best to register with forums that are relevant to your web site.
