No Flaming Figgy Puddings on Facebook Fan Pages
I’ve been working on pimping out the Buzz Marketing Pros fan page on Facebook. It’s not exactly a quick fix, I can tell you that, and I haven’t been able to make it particularly fancy, unless I’ve missed an awesome app to help me out with that.
You do have a Facebook fan page for your business, right? Of course you do – you wouldn’t miss out on that opportunity! It’s become kind of like a social media round robin – Site to Blog to LinkedIn to Facebook to Twitter to Flickr to Site and so on, not necessarily in that order, but you’ve gotta have them all.
I haven’t utilized Flickr since it’s kinda hard to take pictures of SEO that anybody actually wants to look at. And I have a really hard time thinking of interesting SEO tidbits to tweet, since I don’t like to give away my “secrets.” I like LinkedIn for the networking aspect. I love my somewhat recently neglected Diva blog, and I’ve been busy adding Portfolio and Case Studies pages to the Buzz Marketing Pros site.
That brings me right back around to the Facebook fan page. It’s considered an important aspect of any online marketing effort right now, and you don’t need to throw flaming figgy puddings at your friends and clients, or watch a gift egg hatch to see what you got. Instead, the idea is to make it replete with photos, videos, interesting comments and such. After that your mission is to get as many fans as you possibly can.
If you’ve got a business that lends itself to fun and interesting events or products, you’ve got an edge. If your business is somewhat boring to others, like SEO and online marketing can be, at least it’s there and indexing on Google, pointing to your web site and all that lovely stuff.
If you haven’t gone there yet, here are a couple of links to help you set up and fix up your Facebook business page:

Thank you so much for the links. Facebook is now a major marketing tool for online entrepreneurs who know how to maximize their Facebook accounts.
It works extremely well for some businesses, and I can see where real estate would be one of them!
i heard it already.that face book fan page is great.but i didn’t try it.but i try it soon.Thanks for the information.have a nice day.
thanks for the links , i don’t really believe in facebook for small businesses but it might make me change my mind
I think it depends on the business. I have a page for Buzz Marketing Pros, but there’s not much I can sensibly do with it except have it there…and it prevents someone else from taking my business name on there.
I dont know if this will work because I’ve never created a page but to see what pages you belong to (I’m guessing if you created it you belong to it) go to your profile. Click on the info tab. Under your info there will be a list of like 5 or 6 of your groups.
Yes, that works. You can join Buzz Marketing Pros fan page if you’d like to
When an online marketing business knows how to play with its cards and maximize social networking sites such as Facebook, it really has an edge over its competitors. The idea is to get across your product or idea to as many people as you can.
I agree. And what’s cool on FB is that fans multiply exponentially.
I created a couple of Facebook fan pages but I can’t find them. Is there any way to find them if I don’t know the names?
Your link to the 8 Essential Apps is extremely useful. I’ve been trying to think of ways to make a client’s facebook page more vibrant and worthwhile.
They don’t give you many options, unfortunately. I spent an entire day trying to make something of one, but didn’t get all that far.
Thank you for the 8 apps. The Twitter app is pretty cool.
