It’s always tremendously gratifying to see a client rank at the top in Google for a premium keyword phrase. Even better when it’s just one word!
I don’t usually write about clients in my blog, but this one is just too too good to pass up! Hat Club is #3 in Google for the keyword “hats” and I’m pretty excited about that.![]()
How was it done, you may ask? No black hat involved – instead it has been through meticulous SEO practices and a wave of the Diva’s magic wand.
Since your results may vary a little depending up the data center your IP pulls from, I’d love to know where it shows up in your Google search rankings.

Congratulations! Certainly the single word is the holy grail of the SEO world!
So… First page of Google with the old magic wand? Does this confirm the longtime notion of PPC being science and SEO being witchcraft?
No no, not witchcraft…they wear pointed BLACK hats! Just a sprinkling of fairy dust from my wand
Well firstly thanks for sharing this piece of information with me.Well single words in most cases ranks well..and this is no exception.Diva’s magic wand..yeah right!

I agree with great above post that single keyword can easily catch the eye of search engines. But its quite competitive
too. Its quite essential to do the proper keyword search before implementation. And with that you can easily get all benefits of search engine..
That is pretty impressive Ms SEO Diva. So are those hats black or white? LOL

that is magical indeed… how did the site rank before you waved the diva wand for it? how did you do it? we need to know
I have just one word to say ‘WOW’, you did a wonderful job. the “Hats” is one of the toughest keyword “7,480,000 search volume per month”. So what exactly you did apart from On Page Optimization? I think Link building would help to rank well in the search engine. What you say?

Congrats but did you achieved that using PPC or simply through traditional seo.
Thanks
Congrats Diva! I’m sure “hats” was an extremely difficult keyword to rank for. I would definitely be celebrating if I was you. Can you wave your magic wand over a couple of my sites?
Sure, let me find it, ummmm where did I put that thing. Hang on………..
@ Neo – Thanks! PPC doesn’t affect organic rankings. The site has a good number of links, but getting it there for “hats” was all traditional SEO.
@SEO Pune – They had the links, and good rankings for other keywords, but the move up the rankings for “hats” was all onsite SEO.
@Andrea – careful onsite optimization, link building, and time. It takes time to get there . And of course my wand
Well, if you’re a QB for the Tennessee Titans, you’re there!
Aw Ryan, all white hats!!
Yeah, think of the my I’d make if I could just sell it in little bottles!
Keyword research is huge, and really, the long tail keywords are what usually convert the best.
Top of the list on the first page for a single word thats popular, thats where you want to be
That is a great thing to share. Congratulations!
This is a really great. I believe one of the biggest factor that contributed to this result was that SEOclub is of 11 years of age, which has a lot of advantage in terms of domain age and authority, but overall great!

Great work! that is a fantastic testimonial to you.
You’re right, they’re not there for the singular. That’s okay, I’ll stay happy with “hats” and try to move it higher.
Thanks! Is that a white hat or a black hat
One word? No, that’s not possible.

Still hanging your had on number 3 on the San Diego Google DC. That’s quite impressive. Glad I don’t have to work for a one-word keyword. “Homes” would be way to broad for me, but San Diego Homes is great.
meticulous SEO practices are really that deserves such grades… and this is really one of those tactics that provides you with the best of the result … congrats for the third stage

“I don’t usually write about clients in my blog, but this one is just too too good to pass up! Hat Club is #3 in Google for the keyword “hats” and I’m pretty excited about that.”
What’s Hat Club? What is the nature of this social media club? I have to check it out myself and see what I can make use of there. Please share info about it on your next posts. Thanks.

I don’t usually go for one-word keywords, but this site had been doing really well on a lot of keywords, so I figured it was worth a try. It was really gratifying!
Thanks! I hope you continue to enjoy the blog.
Somehow I’m not surprised!
Not quickly and with a lot of work!
Congratulations on your client’s success. Aside from the importance of a keyword phrase, how important is the business name in the market?
Unless it’s a well known brand, it’s not important at all. You want to rank for words and phrases people search for.
Does anyone have information about Google’s Caffeine update and how it will affect existing rankings? I listened to an interview with Matt Cutts’ over at webpronews, but I was not able to translate what I heard into anything really useful.
Is in it google local listings..
well Done for your client’s website….
I wonder can anyone tell me if there is an optimum number of words in a keyword string?
