Hosted Web Content for Link Building
Most web site owners struggle to find ways to increase the number of their inbound links.
Hosted web content (aka pre-sell pages) is a linking opportunity that many people are not aware of.
What is Hosted Web Content?
Hosted web content is a page on another web site that includes links back to your web site. In some cases, this will consist of a page of content within the site with links to deep pages of your site. Sometimes it’s a review of your site with a link back.
The difficult part is finding relevant sites that will host your content. There are paid services that offer nice pre-sell pages that include several paragraphs of content with embedded links back to your site.
These can often do great things for your rankings if the web content’s home site is a trusted, reputable site. Also make sure the title, description, etc. have been optimized for search engines.
Risks of Hosted Web Content
Google does not approve of web site managers purchasing links to their sites. However, when hosted content pages are done well they are not obvious examples of paid links, so they provide a reasonable option for sites that want to gain more inbound links faster.
If Google does recognize that you’ve paid for this hosted web content, you won’t be banned from the results. The links just won’t count towards increasing your ranking. Your risk is higher if you’re using a free service.
Other Issues to be Aware Of
If you’re interested in hosted web content, make sure you shop around. Some of these services can be quite expensive: as much as $500 per month. If you allow the service to write the content for your page themselves, they own it and can remove your links if you stop paying.
You also don’t want a lot of other advertising on your hosted page, which is common with free services. Other ads can distract people from following your links and may alert Google that you have paid for your links.
One service you may want to try out is Linkworth. The last time I checked their prices were pretty reasonable and they include a lot of different link building options.

I think hosted web content is great for SEO. Like you mentioned, it is important to make it look not like spam or a paid link. A review site for your blog or product is great, especially if it drives traffic straight from the page it is on or if the hosted content is an authority site. Regards!
what do you think of Guest Blogging . I do it for relevant blogs . I had done it 2-3 times and think the link they give is of good quality
Regards,
Emilio
hosted web content seems to be a good idea, however in these economic times people are not going to want to pay for it and I dont know how well it will take off.
Great information, I have never thought about this before. Web hosting for content and preselling pages is a brilliant idea if the market is ready for it!
Hosted web content is a great way to build links. I wouldn’t want to spend too much on it, and I think it has a more organic feel if you can get somebody to hook you up in exchange for a link. To me, guest blogging sounds like a great idea Emilio. Now that you mention it, I’d like to try it.

Hmm I think it sounds like a good short term answer but much like adwords when the cash runs out so will the traffic and benefit of all that hard cash you have spent.
To be quite honest I’ve never seen the point in buying links just to buy links on other people’s websites. I can get more targeted traffic from writing and distributing articles of my own and get just as many (actually more) backlinks to my website.
sometimes i go to ezine to submit articles that link to my website.
I know that link building has a huge hand in bringing online traffic to your web site but is not sure whether hosted web content can support link building or not?
I think this process might work but just be careful if you dont know what you are doing.
I really appericiate your ideas & i am totally with it. The link building is a nice way to increase your site’s reputation. Another way is to open your site’s address in other’s computers.

That’s unfair to remove the links if you didn’t pay them. Do you mean don’t pay them intentionally or stop paying them because they ended the service?
Seems like a good SEO tactic. Though I had an idea of it but never thought of trying it for my sites. Now I thing I will try it and it will be good for my PR.
Deep-linking has been around since then. Really really good technique especially with those who have a rich content. A very meaty one that is!
