125 Ad Exchange – No Clicking Involved
As you may have read in an earlier post, Entrecard and I didn’t get along much. They still owe me $50, too.
I didn’t have time to endlessly click on other blogs so they would, in return, endlessly click on mine. Traffic increased in a big way during my clicking days, but so did my bounce rate. All in all, Entrecard was a bust for me.
Now I’m checking into 125 Exchange, a new, free banner advertising program for blogs. It’s simple enough to use – create a 125 x 125 banner ad for your blog, upload it to their site, place their code on your blog and smile. You can choose categories, countries, and times to advertise. You can also test up to 3 ads.
Here’s the deal:
125 Exchange does only one thing. Places your 125 x 125 banner ad on other blogs, and places other blogger’s ads on your blog. It is all free for blog publishers, and the fresh traffic for your blog can be noticeable.
When you register, your account is automatically credited with 5,000 banner ad impressions. While you are working-off your initial 5,000 banner impressions, you also start replenishing the supply of free advertising available to you. Every three times someone clicks on a member ad on your blog, you get two visitors from clicks coming from someone else’s blog (3:2).
They have some strict rules, which I like – you don’t end up with junky looking ads for weird or useless blogs on your site. The rules include the following:
* Your ad must look professional.
* Blogs only. Your blog must have at least 20 posts and be recognized by Compete.com.
* You can only promote your blog or your services.
* All banner ads must be displayed above the fold on your blog.
* Your blog must not contain adult or other inappropriate content.
No risk, no expense, no clicking until you grow a blister on your finger…sounds good to me, so I’m giving it a try.

If you don’t have significant revenue from advertising with the125px banners, then it’s a great variation of an old idea.

The problem is that banners always have such low click-through rates so I can’t see it generating much traffic. I’d be interested to hear how you get along with the service though…
I found 125 Ad exchange through Entrecard but haven’t had time to really dig and and explore it.
Would LOVE it if you’d share whether it’s worth digging into or not.

@Virtual Impax – I’ll write another post about it after a couple of weeks of stats.
I’d like to hear of your experience with them.
Most important, are you getting quality visitors? I suspect that really has a lot to do with the ad that you create.
