Luv the Blog Comments!

I heart blog comment Wow, step away from the computer for a few days and see what happens!

I got a ton of great comments (it’s gonna take me awhile to catch up with all of you), and spammed like crazy by persons mostly located in Russia.

Akismet usually does a great job catching them, but even it had trouble this time around. Several of them got by, so if you found some totally senseless comments or comments with strange characters in them, I’ve weeded them out. And if your blog comment got caught by the spam filter, I released it!

There was a comment by one person about this happening when using Do Follow. True, it does occasionally, but it’s worth a little extra blog housekeeping to gain new readers and in return find new blogs I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. Plus Do Follow is very helpful for link building for us all.

I apologize for no Comment Luv for a few days. Somehow it “automagically” got deactivated, along with the All-in-One-SEO plugin. I have no clue how this happened…

Because of eye issues (what a thing to have problems with when your entire day is spent looking at a screen with glaringly bright lights) I’ll be offline for a couple more days, but after that it’s business as usual.

By the way, be sure to drop by Online Marketing Performance to see the Stupid SEO Stories winner of the iPod Touch. Scott will be posting more of the stories and they’re pretty interesting!

    I agree with you , DoFollow is Good for all , but sometimes it’s a headache .
    I have a blog that filled with thousands of spam comments.

    This is what happens when you are too good with people!:) dofollow tag is a great thing as long as you dont find somebody who wants to pest your comments section with tons of spam..at leas this is what happened to me. Anyway thanks for trying! as far as your “automatic deactivation” i would say it is nothing to worry about. Sometimes servers go down and when they go online again…they mess up with the blogs. …useless to say….backup after, backup soon!

    Welcome back! And I look forward to this again in a few days. LOL

    You may wish to try a see-through screen cover….still work, not nearly as stingy on the eyes ;)

    Cheers

    I love blog comments as well! Being in the link industry I understand the value in a link, so I appreciate what you said and it does help us all! I recently wrote a blog on the value of exposure, but most importantly the finding of the new friends in a community of bloggers that I love! Happy blogging!

    Yeah when you enable comment luv and do follow you will definitely be spammed. I had observed this many times. I was wasting more of my time looking at the comments rather than writing the Blog posts..

    @TechnoSamrat - the Akismet plugin helps a lot, though…it usually catches most of the spam.

    @David - thanks, I wish I had one like that for real.

    @Free Ebooks - Akismet usually works well for me, and it “learns” which is a plus.

    @Derek - thanks!

    @Web Talk - I didn’t realize that the server going down could affect my plugins, but it makes sense. It has happened more than once.

    @Dennis - yes, I have to make the time to go find one!

    @PPC Man - traffic went up, (good) comments went way up and I gained subscribers.

    @Car Leasing - thank you :)

    @Jenny Stradling - thanks for your comments!
