Choose Entrecard for Great Traffic

After prodding from a friend and business partner, I finally added Entrecard to this blog.

SEO Diva entrecard buttonIt was a good move. My traffic increased significantly, I have new readers, great comments on my posts, and in return I have discovered new (to me) blogs I really enjoy reading.

It’s simple enough to join. You have to create a 125×125 button, but they have templates available so that shouldn’t stop anyone.

Tip: Read the Entrecard Ebook

For best results read their ebook when you join, so you’ll understand their credit system, but in a nutshell:

1. Go to other sites and “drop” your card on the button you find on their site

2. Approve advertisers that want to put their Entrecard button on your site

3. Find sites that you would like to advertise on with your Entrecard button

4. If you’re not gaining points fast enough, and advertising is important to you, you can buy credits.

Discover Interesting Blogs

Most people typically visit many blogs just long enough to drop a card, but the proper way to do it is to take a look at the blog, read it, and leave a comment. I have found some truly interesting blogs I would never have come across any other way, and have enjoyed reading them. There are some creative people out there!

Lots of New Blog Traffic

To give you an idea of traffic increase, the Diva traffic doubled on days that I had no new blog posts, our online dating site traffic increased by a factor of 6, and not only traffic to my brother’s new free car repair advice blog increased dramatically, but also reader questions.

They have a new toolbar you can add to your browser. It comes in handy when you’re doing your daily “Entrecard thing” although it’s a little buggy. You can also join up the blogs you’ve registered so you can easily switch from one to another.

10 Entrecard Traffic Tips for Success has some helpful ideas in using Entrecard to get great traffic benefits.

Get Involved

This is a program in which you have to stay engaged in order to reap the benefits properly. The community as a whole is very active, and so far it’s been a lot of fun, with one glitch.

When I signed up my brother’s blog I forgot to make a note of the email and password I used (you have to use a different one for each blog) and now I can’t remember either of them. You can get a password reset, but only if you have the proper email address.

Help Me Out, Entrecard People!

So here I am, stumped, because none of the emails I could possibly have used works, which means I most likely made a typo. So far, I haven’t discovered a way to contact anyone to see if I can get this fixed. Anyone know how to remedy this situation?

Thanks for summing up all the jargon about entrecard, I have been thinking since many days to join but had no times to read all that lengthy instructions and manuals. I concluded that Entrecard is a good thing to join for traffic purposes.

I did kind of suspect that a lack of sleep would come into it - but 10 out of 10 for dedication and thanks once again for taking the time!

I’d like to kindly disagree with the assertion that Entrecard provides “great” traffic. It may provide more traffic than before, but is it relevant traffic? Are these new visitors truly interested in your content, or are they bloggers trying to boost their own traffic.

You know what brings in good traffic? Great content, something your blog already sems to have (keep it up). Entrecard is a faux marketing tool that quite frankly, doesn’t make sense.

Entrecard is an option that I am considering right now but I think the best way to gain Google’s trust is the organic way.
    My 2 cents

    @JBO - you’re welcome!

@Shireishou - I agree, you do have to stay active to keep it going.

@Jason - I think the traffic is a bit of both. My subscribers have increased rapidly, and they don’t have any reason to subscribe unless they’re actually interested in my blog. I also enjoy comments - which means someone took the time to read an article. Thanks for being one of my readers!

@techie - this really doesn’t have anything to do with Google, but with introducing your blog to many others and also gaining traffic.

There’s been a lot of talk in the blogosphere about Entrecard, and whether or not the traffic from Entrecard is worth the time. I’m still testing it myself, but it’s great to get your opinion it.

While more traffic is ALWAYS good, the relevancy of traffic from Entrecard is questionable. With that being said, traffic is traffic and I will give it test drive on a blog when I get the chance.

We always have barriers and hurdles so it is difficult to overcome them. Perhaps it is a little hidden truth and we are lazy to discover it. We spend several hundred dollars to achieve our traffic goals but we can’t spend a little time to explore the resources ourselves. It is a good opportunity and we should avail all of them.

Hi Kay - The concept of Entrecard sounds real interesting as far as traffic goes but is this really the kind of traffic you would want for a Real Estate blog?

Its the quality of the traffic that counts. Best way to get traffic is the organic search engine placement for your terms that are attracting buyers for your services.

    Thanks again for the tip

All the traffic in the world won’t help if it’s not the traffic you need.

I certainly agree with having to ‘Stay Engaged’ - in the past I’ve only participated in Entrecard sparingly and never received much traffic through it.

Entre Card wasn’t for me but I appreciate your opiniion and this post. The traffic isn’t targeted so it’s difficult to monetize correctly and the traffic didn’t convert so well. Although if you are building up a readership etc… then entrecard seems like it’s worth experimenting with in my opinion.
