CommentLuv - Free Link Love

CommentLuv has proved such a boon to my blog already! I just added it yesterday (Luv Luv Me Do), yet not only have I seen an immediate increase in readership and comments, I’ve been clicking on the links to my readers blogs and getting great ideas from them (and leaving comments too).

If you have the CommentLuv plugin enabled on your WordPress blog, leave a comment below or fill out my contact form, and I’ll add you to the list I’m compiling and will publish very soon.

Free links, free advertising - don’t you luv it?

    Kay - It didn’t seem to work. I’m trying one more post, thinking that it may now work for comments that need to be approved.

    @Scott - when you have a Feedburner redirect it causes problems, not only with CommentLuv but in getting link juice from your comments overall.

    Check out this article: Don’t Let Your CommentLuv Be Stolen at http://www.scratch99.com/2008/02/commentluv-benefits-lost-feedburner-redirect/.

    @Kay - I installed the plug-in and took the in-person advice you gave regarding the configuration setting that is available to allow more time to look-up the blog post. That worked well. And, there isn’t an issue (as far as I can tell) parsing and posting a feed that is hosted at Feedburner. The issue that was discussed in the article you emailed to me was that if you have one of the PRO settings in Feedburner enabled it causes Feedburner to not pass links directly to your blog pages, but instead through Feedburner and then redirecting back to the blog. With that setting enabled links in RSS feeds (which are consumed by Comment Luv) wouldn’t pass any PR benefit along. Thanks for the tips/help!

    Hey Seo Diva, I used to write here with the name hack windows xp and now with the real name. I have not added this in any of my blogs so I can;t put any link here. I am not a big fan of comment love really. I don’t care what people have to say, just the fact that giving them information is good. Sometimes adding plugins like this attracts selfish people who look for link love to their website. Also more external links from each page reduces the PR Juice that internal pages need to share. Also you may want to try this tool which can calculate the loss in PR juice due to external links http://www.canober.com/blog/2008/06/using-googles-formula-to-predict-page-rank/

    I am really sorry if I was harsh.

    @Germz - thanks for your comment. I’m going to read your post on Comment Kahuna - I have it but haven’t used it yet.

    @Scott - thanks for the added info.

    @Virtual Impax - same here!

    @Prathik - I don’t mind if people are trying to get link juice, as long as they leave meaningful comments.

    I’m not too concerned with losing PR on my blog, if that is even truly the case - why would Google penalize sites for linking out to other sites - isn’t that the whole social interaction thing they’re looking for?

    I’d rather offer value and perks :) to my readers.

    No offense taken!

    @IMFreakz - get that plugin on there so I can add you!

    @SEO Learner - me too! :)
