Keeping up a blog can be a real chore. The ideal is to have 3 - 5 posts a week, and if you’re writing on the side after your day job is over, that can get tough.
With 3 blogs to keep up with, plus client blogs, my brain starts spinning sometimes. Giving up a little control can can be a good thing, so I started sharing posts and profits with my friend Mandi on Successful Online Dating.
Her posts have added a lot to the blog - her different personality and point of view make the blog a richer experience, and we are gaining quite a readership in a short time. When one of us is out of ideas the other picks up the slack. Sharing it with her makes it more fun, and we bounce ideas off each other, so it’s become more creative too.
The other blog is new, and my brother and I have shared it from the beginning. We tossed the idea around for about a year, and bought the domain name back then, but only started it about 3 weeks ago. Dave’s Free Car Repair Advice was an immediate hit, and since Dave knows cars and I know blogs, it’s working out well.
I doubt if I’ll ever share the Diva - too close to my heart! But I’m certainly willing to open it up to guest authors.
If you find your blog is dragging you down, you feel guilty because you’re not keeping up with it, and it’s not fun anymore, consider bringing in a partner. Lots of people are intimidated about starting their own blog, but they’re more than willing to become an author / partner on someone else’s. It’s a great way for them to get their feet wet, and your blog will be revitalized with fresh ideas.

@Daniel - thanks for stopping by, and also helping me toward my goal! I added your blog to my feed reader today - I found your blog well-written too (we have a mutual fan club going here lol) and am looking forward to future posts. ~ Kay
It is awfully time consuming running blogs - good job!!!
You just have to do it on a regular basis. It does get hard. I have a couple of people who contribute and they find it hard to do one once a week. I do something to may site everyother day so I am trained. Getting help is a great idea.
