Niche sites are great for 2 reasons. If you find keywords that get high rank and traffic and the fact site is spot on for what your selling you will make more money.
I think people do not spend enough time doing keyword research. they try to get ranked for top terms and never do well.

Niche Markets are an excellent source of income when done right. I find that it is easier to go after long tail keywords that will drive more focused targeted traffic and they will also have less competing pages and then you have an online business that is running on good market research!
