Do Blog Comments Pass Link Juice? Yes!

orange_juice Several times people have asked this question in blog comments - Do blog comments pass as much link juice as other forms of link building when made on a ‘do follow’ blog posting?

After a discussion with an esteemed colleague, as well as some research on blog comments left by us, the short answer to this is yes, they do. Long answer - not only do they carry as much, but they may carry more weight.

Blog comments are typically placed on highly relevant sites. If there are relevant keywords in the comment, this will add to the value, and if a keyword within the comment is linked (not always allowed) the link is highly valued.

A link from a high PR site is going to pass along a lot of juice (for example Yahoo Directory), but how many of those do we get? Remember - a good link is a good link. Blog comment links on ‘do follow’ blogs are free and easy to get. Pass the juice!
