Facebook - Face of the Future

Face of the FutureThe agency I work for, Terralever, just put on a “Facebook Developer Garage” in Phoenix, and I can tell you there are some remarkable things on the way for Facebook.

You can now access Facebook from your mobile phone, and contact others via Facebook rather than email.

You can upload photos directly from your cell phone to your Facebook account, and one developer is working on an app that will tag and organize the photos when you upload them. Not only that, he’s designing his application to pinpoint the location of the photos and place information about what was happening at that location during that time period on the page.

Other brainy developers spoke of remarkable applications they are currently working on. The apps they are developing are far more sophisticated and useful than sending a virtual plant.

Facebook just implemented Business Pages, so you definitely want to set something up for your business. Some companies have already designed theirs to look like a one page web site. E-commerce ability is on its way, and advertising has already started.

Many companies are currently developing apps or brainstorming about Facebook applications that will be useful, interesting, and advance their businesses brands and/or make sales.

It will be interesting to see the changes in Facebook only 6 months from now.

A great utility for the real estate agents and the likes of the directory based sites. One promising venture, simply taking shots of homes for sale, assigning an address, price and description; daily posts, regional navigation and networked.
I like the tags app, simple for placement during upload to a hub account. Envision the ability to harness this as a ‘paid per photo’ ( with scripted tags like 2br, 2 ba, 2cg, con, twn, 0 250 - 275 sT, Pl, and zip) set the meta tags in place by zips, price etc.
Imagine the SEO value with bookmarking. hope the tags app enables the data format to be bookmark friendly as well as site savvy.
Very well written, see the PR has gathered momentum.

Please have someone contact me, and yes, I bookmarked this.
