Ever see those ads? Anyone that has the secret to that could retire in luxury! Unfortunately, the only way anyone gets natural rankings in one day is if they promote an odd keyword phrase that has no competition, and even then they need to know their SEO to get it there. The only other way you’ll get on Google in one day is to sign up for Adwords.
The best way to get solid rankings is slow and steady. Make sure your on-site SEO is on target - focused keywords, well-written content, proper navigation, clean code, keyword rich title, no spam. Build your links, including directories. Add content. Add a blog for more content. Upload an xml sitemap. Make sure you’ve added Google analytics and Google webmaster tools, and then use them.
A brand new site will usually sit in the Google sandbox for 6 months. Use that 6 month period of time to polish your site, build links and get as much traffic to it as you can. Sometimes you’ll be rewarded with a shorter time in the sandbox, but you can’t count on that. So be patient and keep plugging away at the things you can do to help your site. I’ve seen client sites come out of that sandbox with a roar!
