20 August 2009 59 Comments

SEO Tools I use many tools in my business, to track sites, analyze competition, and of course, to determine keywords. Most of the SEO tools I use are freely available online.

Today I came across a helpful listing of some of the best tools available – Search Marketers’ Toolkit – 60 links you need to know by Jeff Woelker.

A few of my favorites are listed below, but really, you should head over to his post for the complete list.

Browser Tools

Keyword Research Tools

Analytics

  • Google Analytics
Awesome free service. Don’t let it overwhelm you – spend some time exploring.

Then of course, there’s Bing.

  • http://www.crovean.com Nashville SEO

I use most of what you mentioned, especially Google Analytics and SEOBook firefox tool bar! Not sure about bing.com but there’s some use with there local business like Google’s

    • http://www.seodiva.net Seo Diva

Oh, just ignore the Bing comment ;) I wrote it as a joke…since several recent posts of mine have been bashing Bing.

      • http://www.crovean.com Nashville SEO

hehehe well why bing if you can google it ;)

    • http://www.seodiva.net Seo Diva

NetEngine, is it clunky? So many of the safety plugins add so much info that they mess up the user experience.

      • http://www.netengine.com.au NetEngine Team

SEO Diva, I haven’t had any issues with the add on yet and no it is not clunky. If you tinker around with it you’ll know what I mean. It’s simple, clean and straight to the point. A time saver indeed!

I was using SEO for Firefox from SEOBook.com and much of them you have chosen the right collection form a list of many. Thanks for sharing and keep posting valuable information.

  • http://logoinn.com custom logo design

i’ve been using SEO book’s tool and its really helpful, also firefox’s nodofollow plugin works really well.

    • http://www.seodiva.net Seo Diva

Nodofollow is helpful…if I’d used that on my site I would have known my category links were not being followed in my header! I like the fact that now I can take a quick look at all my sites and see where I need to add a “no follow” robots tag.

Most of the SEO tools I use are freely available online.

Many SEO tools for free are really excellent. But don’t you think it is worthy to spend bucks for some paid ones? They offer some features that free ones do not.

Awesome free service. Don’t let it overwhelm you – spend some time exploring

I do find Analytics a bit hard to use. Could you provide a tutorial on this? What are other things it offers?
